Political Promise 2010-2011

In Newswire on January 2, 2012 at 12:17 am

Happy New Year to all readers and writers of Political Promise. Thank you for your support, comments and contributions. In two years, we blazed the trail to get our voices heard, set the news agenda and make some good friends in the process. After much deliberation, and on the 2 year anniversary of the site’s setting up, I have decided to shut up shop. Unlike most sites, which vanish mysteriously, I will keep the site running so the articles (of varying degrees of quality) can remain active and published. I am going to concentrate on writing on other platforms (if they’ll have me) and university. I want to thank Matt and Will who gave me the inspiration to do it, Sam and Lewis for making me realise it was time to stop, Jamie for designing our magazine and general persistance of me, Declan and Ani the only official-est members of PP staff and all the writers. But thank you, most of all, for reading.

  1. Saw this coming for a while now. It was good while it lasted.
All the best with your future endeavours!

  2. Its a pity to hear this Charlie but I fully understand. Political Promise gave me my first experience of blogging and I am forever grateful. It was a pleasure working with you, and I truly hope to work with you again at some point in the future. All the best. Stay in touch, friend.

  3. It’s a pity that the PP era has come to an end, but it’s been a good 2 years. Well done Charlie, you put a lot of effort into making a success of the blog and the magazine and you can be very proud of what you achieved.

  4. Gah, only just saw this! Have you not considered perhaps opening up the editorial position so that someone else can have a go?

My blogging activity has been dormant as of late as I’m on my journalism post-grad, but it would be a shame to see Political Promise go!
